Welcome to The Backyard Stables
It all started with that one advertisement on the internet.
We had a jumping horse and a jumping pony at home, and space left for more horses.
I saw this NMPRS colt named Prahbu’s Shappa, and fell in love immediately.
Of course one miniature horse on his own was not so much fun for himself, so Elly also came living with us.
When Shappa grew older, he and Elly had to be separated. I bought a second stallion, named Camacho van de Heesbeekhoeve.
A few years later I saw these 2 very nice American filly’s, Spooky and Jewel.
This is where I decided to find a new home for the NMPRS stallions and go further with the American miniature horses.
Also my boyfriend was very interested in these small horses, and decided to buy some of his own. At this time we started a small breeding for this small race. Because our horses are standing at home, practical in our backyard,
we choose for the name ‘The Backyard Stables’.
